The Heart-Wrenching Plea for Justice: Baytown Mother Seeks Answers in Daughter’s Murder
BAYTOWN, Texas — It has been nearly three years since the tragic mass shooting in Baytown that took the life of 25-year-old Disha Allen. Her mother, Leanna Goudeau, is still searching for answers and pleading with the community to help identify the gunman responsible for her daughter’s senseless death.
On December 12, 2021, Disha Allen was attending a vigil when tragedy struck. A drive-by shooting on North Market Loop left thirteen people injured, with Disha being the only fatality. The young mother left behind a 4-year-old daughter, Kennedy, who now relies on her grandmother for love and support.
In a heartfelt plea, Leanna Goudeau spoke at a recent Crime Stoppers news conference, urging anyone with information to come forward. “I need the help of the community. I know someone knows something,” Goudeau said. “I want them to be forced to look me into my eyes. I want them to be forced to look Kennedy in her eyes.”
Despite the unimaginable pain and loss, Goudeau remains resilient for her granddaughter. She shared, “I’ve been forced to fight thoughts of suicide, I’ve been forced to fight depression because of what happened to my daughter.”

As the crowd gathered, a black Honda Civic drove by and opened fire, causing chaos and terror. One victim, Duane Cormier, recalled the harrowing experience of being shot and fearing for his life.
The community gathering, which included children playing in a bounce house, was shattered by the violent act. Following the shooting, a burned vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s was found nearby, adding to the mystery surrounding the motive.
